One of the ideas at the centre of my work is that oral care should not begin only when something goes wrong.
The Dental Shaman philosophy places strong emphasis on prevention and on helping people become more engaged with their everyday oral wellbeing. That same idea runs through the technology and storytelling I have developed around the movement.
From oral hygiene task to daily ritual
I want oral hygiene to feel less like another task to complete and more like a deliberate daily ritual of care. That shift in language matters because it changes the relationship we have with our own mouths.
The Dental Shaman Waterflosser was developed within that philosophy. It incorporates a patented ozone-generating system and was designed with both practicality and intention, with the aim of supporting gum health and biofilm management.
Why biofilm appears in the Dr Ozone world
Biofilm also became part of the creative language of Dr Ozone. The campaign uses bold visual storytelling to make subjects such as plaque, biofilm, forgotten spaces, water and prevention more memorable.
The superhero story is not a replacement for professional dental advice. It is a way of getting people interested in prevention and encouraging them to think more consciously about daily oral care.
Technology with intention
My view is that technology should support biological intelligence rather than override it. The point is not technology for its own sake. It is to use innovation in a way that supports a wider culture of prevention, awareness and long-term oral wellbeing.
This is part of the wider Dental Shaman philosophy, where modern dentistry and broader wellness awareness can sit alongside one another rather than compete.
